ABOUT US

Trickett Interiors 08 Ltd is a Project Management company specializing in commercial contracting, construction, and architectural millwork.

We work with you right from the start of your project: developing preliminary construction budgets, and coordinating city and design requirements.

Once construction drawings are completed and permits are achieved, we produce finalized quotations along with coordinating the tendering of trades to ensure that the project meets initial budgets and completion timelines.

Building strong relationships with our clients based on transparency, trust, and partnerships is essential to us. We see success as working together with everyone involved in your project, including the design team, the architect and engineering professionals and the trades on site.

HISTORY

Established in 1986, Trickett Interiors is a family owned and operated business in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Trickett Interiors 08 Ltd grew from a local business, Trickett Interiors Ltd, that was established in 1986. Trickett Interiors Ltd was founded by W. Lonn Trickett, a University of Manitoba graduate of the Interior Design program.

His business model was to provide the client with both design and construction expertise to achieve the clients vision while controlling the cost of construction. this concept allowed Trickett Interiors Ltd to work across Canada for companies such as The King Optical Group, Ben Moss Jewellers, and Wolseley Canada to name a few.

In 2002, Oliver and Matt joined Trickett Interiors Ltd and quickly learned the importance of the designer/contractor relationship, the maintaining of budgets, and meeting the delivery dates.

In 2008 Trickett Interiors 08 Ltd was formed with the goal of keeping these concepts and vision alive. Since its inception, Trickett Interiors 08 Ltd has grown and expanded on its traditional strengths to become a better construction company.

Our Team

Oliver Murphy

Co-Owner

Oliver brings a high level of expertise and organization to Trickett Interiors.

He began working in the construction industry when he was 18, working with a residential general contractor and doing just about everything around the job site.

At 21, he joined Foundry Display – Trickett’s Millwork shop which was separate at the time. Starting from the bottom pushing a broom, he worked his way up to the point where he and Matt were co-running the shop.

At this point in time Trickett’s primary market was with optical stores in the US and Canada as well as Wolseley Kitchen and Bath. Oliver was responsible for the production of optical displays, shipping and receiving, prototype drafting and design, inventory management, and estimating.

Eventually, Oliver took over all project coordination: everything from trade scheduling, to trade approvals, as well as shipping of material to sites across Canada, in addition to day-to-day operations.

When owner Lonn Trickett decided to sell the Trickett Interiors in 2008, Oliver and Matt took over the business and incorporated their new ownership of Trickett Interiors 2008 Ltd.

Now Oliver brings his broad range of expertise with him as he and Matt continue to lead Trickett and adapt as the construction and millwork industry continues to shift.

His passion for projects, specifically in partnership with small, local businesses can be seen in his attention to detail and project management.

Oliver is also a certified Trainer for Carpentry, and looks after the Carpentry Apprenticeship Program within Trickett Interiors. Trickett can sign off on the hours of work for carpenters of all experience levels so that they can continue their schooling and obtain the next level of carpentry, all the way up to a Journeyman carpenter.

Matt Trickett

Co-Owner

Matt has been part of the family business since a young age, learning the importance of building trust and client confidence from his father who started Trickett Interiors.

At the age of 14 he started working in the millwork shop and gradually worked his way onto job and construction sites.

Matt immediately fell in love with the millwork and design side of the business. Straight out of high school he took his passion for design and became a certified technician in the field of Drafting/Design. He also took three years of Business Management at Camosun College in Victoria BC.

In 2001, he returned to Winnipeg and took over the millwork side of Trickett Interiors in 2001, calling his shop Foundry Display and hiring Oliver to help run the operation.

Oliver and Matt ran Foundry until 2007 when Trickett Interiors and Foundry Display amalgamated and Trickett Interiors 08 Ltd was born.

He and Oliver are also life long friends – so joining forces as business partners in 2008 was a natural next step.

Within Trickett Matt leads sales and client management, business development, day-to-day operations, along with project coordination, scheduling, and estimating. He also works with the design team on custom millwork and design reviews.

Matt’s knowledge of the construction industry comes from more than 20 years of experience as he’s watched the industry change and has continued to adjust and grow with those changes to continue to offer his clients and partners the same level of high quality design and craft that Trickett is known for.
